Joseph has a dedicated and professional training centre at Time Technology Park in Simonstone just off the M65. Here you will find first class facilities, professional teaching, a great value cafe and free parking. Joseph’s award-winning skills could help you add an important dimension to you and/or your salon’s brand name.
Joseph’s passion and flamboyant style is fired by his Italian roots. This is reflected in his teaching skill, which is guaranteed to stimulate you and your team. With more than 30 years in the business, Joseph Lanzante’s credentials are second to none. Trained at the prestigious Alan International Hair Salon in London’s Knightsbridge, he became the international trainer for an American salon franchise, one of the largest in the world, boasting 2800 establishments.
Joseph subsequently developed his own chain of 12 highly successful hair salons in London. For two years’ running, Joseph was a Southern British Hairdresser of the Year finalist.
After two years in the States running his own barber’s shop in Dallas he returned to the UK, where he now runs The Men’s Room, an exceptional men’s grooming salon in the Ribble Valley which has been featured in the Good Barber Guide and is attracting rave reviews.

Even if you’ve been in work with the same employer for many years, you can still take advantage of our free, on the job, adult Apprenticeships at Blackburn College. So the answer is that it will cost you and your employer nothing!
What qualification will I gain?
You will gain a range of work based qualifications including a nationally recognised level 2 or 3 qualification and key skills in English and Maths (some individuals may be exempt from the Key Skills Element).
There are two levels of Apprenticeship available:
Level 2 Apprenticeship
(equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade A – C)
Apprentices learn the practical and theory elements of their chosen programme. Your employer will play an important role, further developing and enhancing your learning. This level of qualification will allow you to progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships
(equivalent to two A-level passes)
Advanced Apprentices work towards work-based learning qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 and Key Skills whilst further developing skills around new technical areas. On completion you can progress to Assessor Awards or a Teaching qualification.
The Apprenticeships you can study for at Joseph Lanzante are:
• Level 2 Apprenticeship in Barbering
• Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hairdressing
• Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Barbering
Can anyone do an Apprenticeship?
Whether you’re 16 – 18 or 19 to over 60 there are no barriers. Even if you thought you had enough of learning at school you may be pleasantly surprised! Qualifications like NVQs are designed to assess you in your job and give you the chance to show what you know. As long as you are employed in a hairdressing role currently, you are eligible to start an Apprenticeship.
